True Tough Guy - Jerry's Corner...A View from the Plus Size

We have an idea of what we consider a tough guy…maybe an MMA fighter or some elite military person…but after my cousin passed away from cancer the other day I soon realized what a true tough guy is…he fought for three years with true grit and when the doctors told him he had six months to live he fought for three years. He totally changed my definition of mentally strong as he went through pure hell yet kept on fighting…and even sneaked in a workout when going through treatments. I feel a lot of emptiness and as I write this along with a few tears….he made me a better person husband and father as soon realized that all to often we forget to stop and enjoy life and smell the roses. Hug your kid, spouse or friend and remember to stop and enjoy what you have and realize how fortunate we are to be able to Crossfit and do what we do. My kids will know how courageous there cousin was and what a true tough guy he was and what mentally tough truly is..rock on
